Midland College invites the community to connect, learn, and explore new interests through Café Connect, a series of free, one-day interactive workshops designed to encourage personal growth, creativity, and meaningful connection. Open to the public, these sessions offer hands-on experiences led by knowledgeable facilitators in a welcoming, low-pressure environment.

When people talk about careers in the skilled trades, the conversation almost always starts and too often ends with one question. "What does it pay in the first year?" It's a fair question. But it's also the wrong place to stop.

When Katie Miller, Director of the Permian Basin Area Health Education Center (AHEC), scribbled "start a rural healthcare summer camp" on a sticky note, she wasn't sure how or when it would happen -- only that it had to.

There are moments in our work when you stop taking notes, stop worrying about what comes next on the agenda, and simply sit back and listen. Midland College's Spring Convocation was one of those moments for me. This year's convocation centered on two of our strategic pillars: Collaboration and Community.
