On Tuesday, May 5, Midland College recognized Olivia Trischitti as the 2026 Chap Champion during its annual Honors Convocation, which celebrates outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and student success.

Students from Midland College earned multiple honors at the 2025 SkillsUSA District and State competitions, demonstrating their technical knowledge and hands-on skills across a variety of contests. At the district competition, Midland College students earned top finishes in automotive, diesel, and mechatronics events, with several advancing to the state level.

In a moment that mirrored the excitement of an athletic signing day, Midland College and Midland ISD came together to celebrate a different kind of commitment rooted in skill, purpose, and career readiness. At the first-ever Applied Technology Signing Day, high school seniors formally committed to continuing their education at Midland College and pursuing hands-on training in high-demand technical fields.

Midland College recently hosted its annual End-of-Year Celebration honoring students in the Legacy Scholars Program, an evening that recognized academic success, personal growth, and the community partnerships that make the program possible. This year, Midland College Legacy Scholars logged 10,000+ service hours and donated $14,000 to support Communities in Schools of the Permian Basin's mental health initiatives, while celebrating big wins along the way.
