Midland College is excited to announce the launch of its new class of First-Generation Ambassadors. This initiative aims to enhance student involvement through community service, provide workshops that promote both academic and personal success, and build a robust network of support for first-generation college students.

The First-Gen Ambassador Program empowers passionate student leaders to represent Midland College by engaging in outreach and community events. These ambassadors play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment for prospective students while developing essential soft skills such as leadership, communication, and networking.

“The First-Gen Ambassador Program is not just about service,” said Ida Curiel, MC Associate Director of First-Generation and Post-College Initiatives. “It’s about building a community where first-generation students can thrive. Our ambassadors will have the unique opportunity to develop their leadership skills while making a significant impact on the lives of their peers. This program is an essential step in ensuring that every first-gen student feels supported and valued at Midland College.”

In addition to personal and professional development, the First-Gen Ambassador Program includes scholarship opportunities tied to participation, further incentivizing student engagement and commitment.
