Who We Serve & How We Work
"Career Services isn't a single office. It's a network. Every part of the network is working for you."
Who We Serve
Midland College's student body is one of the most diverse in West Texas. Some students are working to master the English language as their first step toward meaningful employment. Others are traditional students building toward transfer to a four-year university. Most fall somewhere in between — each with a unique background, unique goals, and a unique path forward. Career Services supports students from career exploration to employment readiness. Aptitude and interest assessments, including exclusive access to the VitaNavis career planning platform upon request, help students discover career paths that align with their interests. Job fairs, career workshops, and internship opportunities provide valuable networking experiences, while top-notch resume development and interview preparation give students the competitive edge they need to pursue employment.
A Collaborative Model Built for MC
Career Services at Midland College operates as a collaborative, decentralized network — because that's what our students deserve. Rather than building in isolation, we work shoulder-to-shoulder with the partners already serving our students: Adult Basic Education, the Cogdell Learning Center, the Early College High School, Skillpoint Alliance, the Texas Veterans Commission, the Williams Regional Technical Training Center, and Workforce Solutions Permian Basin — along with our own faculty and staff across campus.
By connecting rather than duplicating, we ensure that every student is directed to exactly the right resource for their individual needs — whether that means a GED program, an apprenticeship, a resume workshop, or a university transfer plan.
What Drives Our Work
Our partners and our team meet regularly to share best practices, exchange useful tools and ideas, and keep a watchful eye on employment trends — particularly in the Permian Basin, where the job market moves fast and the stakes are high for our students and our community.
