Midland College's Campus Serves as Hub for Donations During United Way of Midland’s 'Week of Caring' Food DriveSeptember 17, 2024

Midland College is happy to announce its participation in the United Way of Midland’s "Week of Caring" Food Drive, a vital initiative aimed at bolstering small local food pantries.

The "Week of Caring" Food Drive will run through Sept. 20 and is designed to support a network of local food pantries that are instrumental in providing nourishment to those in need within our community. Donation bins are placed at Midland College in the HR office, the Scharbauer Student Center, and the Cowden Dining Hall.

Requested donation items:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Canned Veggies
  • Canned Soup
  • Canned Fruit
  • Canned Meat
  • Cooking Oils
  • Beans
  • Pasta
  • Oats
  • Juice

The collected items will benefit the Midland College Food Pantry as well as several other local food pantries, including:

  • Bethel Missionary Baptist Church
  • Casa de Amigos
  • Faith Temple Church
  • First Christian Church
  • Jubilee Center of Midland
  • Martin County Food Pantry
  • One Hope Church of Christ

This initiative is crucial in ensuring that local families have access to essential food supplies. Participation in the "Week of Caring" Food Drive is not only valued but also fundamental to the success of this endeavor and the overall well-being of our community.
