Midland College Recognizes Adjunct Faculty Member for Teaching ExcellenceJanuary 16, 2025

Dr. Todd Houck, Professor of History and Henry Chair at Midland College, recently presented the Social & Behavioral Sciences & Business Division Adjunct Teaching Excellence Award to Jennifer Young in recognition of her outstanding service and dedication to the Midland College History Department. This award celebrates teaching excellence by part-time instructors within the division, highlighting their invaluable contributions to student success.

Adjunct instructors play a critical role in almost every instructional program at Midland College. They provide essential support by teaching classes that full-time faculty are unable to cover due to their already full schedules. These dedicated educators are instrumental in ensuring students have access to the courses they need to achieve their academic goals.

Jennifer Young has been a pillar of the Midland College History Department for 14 years. Throughout her tenure, she has taught history in various modalities and at multiple sites, consistently maintaining the high standards that Midland College expects of all its faculty. Her commitment to academic rigor and her ability to inspire students exemplify the excellence this award seeks to recognize.
