Midland College Awarded $70,000 Grant for First-Generation Childcare Assistance ProgramJanuary 22, 2025
Midland College is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $70,000 grant through
the Carl D. Perkins Excellence in Access and Opportunity Program. This funding will
support the launch of a new childcare assistance program specifically designed to
help first-generation college students enrolled full-time in a Midland College Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathway.
“This grant reinforces Midland College’s commitment to breaking down barriers and
providing access to education for all students,” said MC President Dr. Damon Kennedy.
“By offering childcare assistance, we’re enabling first-generation students to focus
on their studies and invest in their future careers while ensuring their children
are cared for in a safe, nurturing environment.”
To qualify for the childcare assistance program, students must meet the following
criteria:
Students who meet the qualifications and are interested in applying for the childcare
assistance program can submit the required application form or request additional information.
