Midland College  is proud to announce the induction of 42 new members into the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society during a special ceremony held on Feb. 24. The prestigious honor society recognizes and celebrates academic excellence and leadership among two-year college students.

The newly inducted members, selected for their outstanding academic achievement and dedication to community service, are now part of a global network of scholars committed to fostering a culture of excellence in higher education. Phi Theta Kappa members benefit from leadership development opportunities and recognition of their achievements both in the classroom and beyond.

"We are proud to celebrate these students and their dedication to academic excellence," said Dr. Terry Gilmour, Advisor and Division 1 Coordinator for Phi Theta Kappa. "Earning membership in Phi Theta Kappa is a significant achievement, and we look forward to seeing how these students continue to lead and serve both on campus and in the community."

Phi Theta Kappa is the world’s largest and most prestigious honor society for two-year college students. Founded in 1918, the society’s mission is to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of students at two-year colleges and provide opportunities for them to develop leadership and service skills that will serve them in their academic and professional careers.

The induction of these new members reflects Midland College’s commitment to fostering a learning environment that encourages student success, academic excellence, leadership, and community engagement.

The Midland College chapter is one of 97 chapters in Texas and has been recognized as a 5-Star chapter over the past six years.
