Midland College presents Michael Feinstein in an extraordinary evening of music, honoring the legendary Tony Bennett through the grandeur of big band arrangements on Saturday, March 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center. As part of the Phyllis and Bob Cowan Performing Arts Series, this remarkable performance will feature the Carnegie Hall Big Band, bringing to life the timeless melodies that defined an era.

Thanks to the generous endowment from the late Phyllis and Bob Cowan and underwriting by the Rea Charitable Trust, this event is offered to the community free of charge. General admission seating is available without tickets, while preferred seating is reserved for 2025 members of Friends of the Series. This VIP membership includes premier seating and access to exclusive meet & greet receptions with all speakers and performers throughout the year. The evening’s program will include beloved classics such as Because of You, Rags to Riches, I Left My Heart in San Francisco, The Best is Yet to Come, I Get a Kick Out of You, and Stranger in Paradise, among many others. Feinstein, a close friend of Tony Bennett, brings a personal and heartfelt connection to this tribute, offering interpretations that celebrate the brilliance and legacy of one of the most enduring figures in American music.

This performance not only pays homage to Tony Bennett’s extraordinary body of work but also highlights the rich history of Carnegie Hall, a venue synonymous with the American big band tradition. A multimedia component will further enhance the experience, reflecting on the greats who have graced the Carnegie Hall stage, including Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra.

Michael Feinstein describes Tony Bennett as "one of the most enduring icons of the twentieth century," acknowledging the unparalleled contribution Bennett has made to music history.
