Midland College Announces Dual Credit Students as New Applied Technology AmbassadorsFebruary 26, 2025
![]() Midland College is proud to introduce its newest group of Applied Technology Ambassadors
— high school seniors who are excelling in their fields and committed to advancing
their education in applied technology. These students, representing multiple Career
Academies, will serve as leaders within their programs and connect with industry professionals,
prospective students, and the community.
“These students have demonstrated a remarkable commitment to their education and future
careers, and that dedication will have a lasting impact — not only on their own success
but on the workforce and economy of Midland and the surrounding communities,” said
Erick Gutierrez, MC’s Department Chair of Applied Technology. “By developing their skills now, they are helping to shape the future of local industries,
ensuring that our region remains strong, innovative, and competitive.”
The 2025 Midland College Applied Technology Ambassadors are:
To be selected, students must be seniors enrolled in an MC Career Academy, maintain
good academic standing, secure a recommendation from an instructor or industry representative,
and commit to a one-year term spanning their senior spring semester, summer, and first
fall semester at MC. They must also plan to pursue an Applied Technology major post-high
school.
As ambassadors, these students will represent MC at industry trade shows, training
events, and outreach efforts, including campus visits and high school career fairs.
They will also mentor younger students entering the program.
In return, ambassadors receive a scholarship to support their education at MC, recognition
at events, networking opportunities with industry leaders, and hands-on training beyond
the classroom. Some of this year’s ambassadors are also participating in SkillsUSA
competitions, further honing their technical and leadership skills.
Midland College remains committed to providing world-class technical training that
meets industry demands and prepares students for successful careers. Through programs
like the Applied Technology Ambassadors, MC continues to foster hands-on learning,
professional development, and pathways to high-demand careers in the Permian Basin
and beyond.
