Midland College welcomes Christine Foreman to the Board of TrusteesDecember 19, 2024

The Midland College Board of Trustees is pleased to welcome Christine Gentry Foreman as the newest Board member. Foreman was sworn in by the Honorable Leah Robertson during the Board meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024. She ran unopposed in November for Place 5, which was previously held by retiring Board member Steve Castle.

"We are thrilled to welcome Christine to the Midland College Board of Trustees,” said MC President Dr. Damon Kennedy. “Christine’s deep commitment to the Midland community, her passion for education, and her drive to make a positive impact will undoubtedly bring energy and perspective to our Board. Her dedication to service and her strong ties to Midland will help guide us as we continue to reimagine the future for our students and the community we serve."

Foreman responded, “I’m excited to have the opportunity to make a lasting impact by supporting and advancing the important work of Midland College alongside my 8 fellow trustees.”

Christine Gentry Foreman is a dedicated community advocate and servant leader with deep roots in Midland, Texas. A product of Midland ISD schools, she furthered her education at Midland College and Texas A&M University before embarking on a decade-long career as a Registered Nurse. Following her nursing career, Christine embraced her passion for service, becoming a professional volunteer and champion for community initiatives.

Leveraging her training from Girl Scouts and the Junior League, Christine has contributed her time and expertise to numerous committees, boards, foundations, and PTAs. Her advocacy has focused on enhancing opportunities, resources, and academic outcomes for students in the Permian Basin.

Christine’s most recent professional journey includes serving as the Community and Public Relations Liaison at Region 18 Education Service Center. Currently, she holds the role of Student Transformation State Director for Maxwell Leadership, where she leads the statewide implementation of iLEAD, a values-based student leadership development initiative created by John Maxwell.

Beyond her professional and service roles, Christine is a devoted wife and mother, whose family fuels her passion for creating a thriving community through proactive servant leadership.

During the Dec. 17th Board meeting, Midland College also swore in current Board members Vice-Chairperson Charlene McBride, Place 6, and Mike Oestmann, Place 4.
