Midland College Cosmetology Program Hosts Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser

Throughout October, Midland College Cosmetology students are raising awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month by offering pink hair extensions. Each extension costs $5 (cash only), with proceeds benefiting Permian Basin Gifts of Hope Midland, a local organization dedicated to supporting cancer patients physically, mentally, and emotionally.

The Midland College Business & Economic Development Center (BEDC) is excited to announce an upcoming Entrepreneur Interview featuring Michael Shapira, owner of Michael's Charcoal Grill. This engaging event will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 9 a.m. in the Carrasco Room on the Midland College campus. Dr. Damon Kennedy, President of Midland College, will lead the conversation, exploring Shapira's journey of building a beloved local business and his experiences as a Vietnam veteran turned entrepreneur.

Midland College's Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society recently hosted the First Generation, First-to-College Resource Fair, an event designed to provide guidance and inspiration for first-generation students. The fair featured student and faculty panels where attendees heard from first-generation students and professionals who shared their personal journeys and strategies for success.
