Midland College Lady Chaps to Host Free Basketball Clinic for Girls in Grades 3-8

Midland College's Women's Basketball team, the Lady Chaps, is announcing a free basketball clinic for female students in grades 3 through 8. The clinic will be held on two dates: Saturday, Oct. 5 and Saturday, Oct. 26. Both clinics will begin registration at 9:30 a.m. and instruction will begin at 10 a.m. at the Midland College P.E. Building gymnasium.

Midland College will host a First Generation, First-to-College Resource Fair, sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa, on Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Carrasco Room. This event is designed to empower first-generation college students by providing valuable resources, networking opportunities, and insights from those who have navigated the challenges of higher education.

Midland College Hosts Special Lecture Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month Featuring Dr. José Angel Hernández

Midland College is hosting a special lecture today at 6 p.m. in the Cogdell Learning Center, featuring Dr. José Angel Hernández, a distinguished scholar and award-winning author. As part of the college's celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Dr. Hernández will explore the late nineteenth-century movement that relocated Tejano families back to Mexico, highlighting how this process of autocolonization differs from traditional settler colonization.
