Meredith  MartinAssociate Professor, Sociology

Meredith Martin began teaching at the age of sixteen at a local daycare. After graduating with her undergraduate degree, she attempted other career fields, but always came back to teaching because being in the classroom is where she is happiest. As a communications professor, part of her job is demonstrating how to build relationships, community, and connection in real time. This is important because so much of today’s communication is conducted through technology and relearning how to connect face-to-face is a vital life skill.

Meredith is a classically trained pianist and equestrian. She is a feminist who supports causes that provide a healthy platform for minority groups and traditionally marginalized societies. She is passionate about the ethical treatment of animals, fixing the education system, and promoting STEAM over STEM.
