Joan  GawloskiAssociate Professor, Geology

While in graduate school at Baylor University, Joan was a TA for Physical Geology, Mineralogy, and Igneous and Metamorphic Petrography which she loved. She prefers to teach in the traditional classroom because she really likes to interact with the students. She has found that her students respond well to stories from her experiences in the petroleum industry, as well as field trips and vacations she has taken.

She loves to garden and cook. She is happiest visiting her sons in Florida and Arizona and at home playing with her two dogs. Her favorite vacation spot is Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. Number one on her bucket list is to visit the Galapagos Islands.
