Brown first taught a technical and business writing type of class at Indiana University-Bloomington. He likes technical and business writing's emphasis on concise, audience-oriented communication. He taught first-year composition classes at the University of South Alabama, as a TA.

He likes teaching both online and in a traditional classroom. Teaching online made him better at teaching in the traditional classroom because it pushed him to think of ways to use technology in his teaching.

South Alabama is his favorite vacation spot because his parents live there. He also enjoys visiting new places.
