The Writing Center
The Writing Center offers Midland College students free tutoring provided by trained faculty, staff, and peer tutors for writing assignments in any course. Our tutors assist with all stages of the writing process—brainstorming, outlining, researching, formatting, revising, and editing. Plus, we provide programming designed to help students enhance their skills in areas like grammar, mechanics, and formatting.
In-Person Tutoring
Our tutors are here to help in the Learning Resource Center (Library) 1st Floor. Stop by during the times below—no appointment is needed.

Bring your assignment from your instructor and your rough draft, if you have started. Remember, tutoring is a collaborative process focused on skill enhancement, not just proofreading. Your tutor will highlight your strengths and discuss ideas for improvement.
At the end of your 20-45 minute session, you'll receive feedback to apply to your work. Additional sessions may be needed to reach your writing goals.
To Submit:
- Go to the Canvas Writing Center Course
- Click Modules tab
- Click “SUBMIT TO TUTOR” link and upload your document
Please allow up to two Writing Center business days (we are not open Friday - Sunday) for a writing tutor to read and respond to your draft.
Use the LRC's Research Guidelines for information on APA and MLA format.
