Midland College is proud to celebrate an historic milestone in its commitment to student success. For the first time in school history, MC has awarded over $1.3 million in scholarships during the Fall 2024 semester alone. With this unprecedented achievement, the college is on track to surpass $2.5 million in scholarships for the entire 2024-2025 academic year, demonstrating its dedication to making higher education accessible and affordable for all students.

"Our scholarship program is a testament to the generosity of our community and our unwavering dedication to student success," said MC President Dr. Damon Kennedy. "By removing financial barriers, we empower students to achieve their goals, ensuring a brighter future not just for them, but for our entire community."

This achievement reflects MC's long-standing commitment to fostering a learning environment where student outcomes rival those of the top-performing colleges in the country. Students at Midland College consistently report high levels of satisfaction and post-college success, with a strong focus on student services that address both academic and non-academic needs. Additionally, MC prioritizes data democratization and transparency, allowing stakeholders to clearly see the impact of the college’s programs and services.

"Each dollar invested in a student has the potential to reshape their entire future,” said Meredith Walker, Director of Scholarships. “Providing the support students need to achieve their goals is a privilege and a critical part of ensuring their success."

A key component of Midland College's scholarship offerings is the Legacy Scholars Program, which provides unparalleled opportunities for local students. Funded by four local foundations — Abell-Hanger Foundation, Scharbauer Foundation, Helen Greathouse Charitable Trust, and Chaparral Foundation — the Legacy Scholars Program offers full-tuition scholarships, leadership training, community involvement, and success coaching. The program demands academic excellence while fostering philanthropy and leadership skills, giving students the tools they need to succeed in college and beyond.

Midland College is incredibly grateful to the Midland College Foundation and all the generous donors who make these scholarship opportunities possible. Their continued support is instrumental in helping MC fulfill its mission of transforming lives through education and ensuring student success at the highest level.
