Debbie  McNeelyAssociate Professor, Psychology

McNeely received her Ph.D. in cognitive psychology focusing on student learning and memory. She loves the field of psychology and teaching this subject allows her to apply the findings from the research she conducts and reads into the classroom. She prefers the interaction in the traditional classroom but is always working to create the most interaction possible in her online classes. She thinks the most important thing is to get students to actually “learn” the content. Rather than just trying to memorize the material, engage in it and think about how it applies to their own life experiences.

She loves being outdoors, running, hiking, and spending time with family. Her favorite vacation spot is “Bermuda—where we went on our honeymoon, and it is the most relaxing tropical place. The locals are super friendly, which was a bonus.”
