A Message From the President of Midland College
Welcome to Midland College!
Whether you are planning to transfer to a four-year university, seeking a certificate or an associate degree, returning to college for retraining, updating skills, or just enjoying the cultural enrichment opportunities we offer, you are in the right place! Our many outstanding academic, technical and career programs will provide the perfect pathway by which you achieve your educational aspirations. We want your experience to be fulfilling and successful, and we are here to help you meet your goals.
You will immediately be impressed with our faculty and staff, who are well prepared to serve you. Our philosophy is that given the right opportunity, people of all ages and backgrounds can achieve their aspirations. We are committed to that belief, and you will find that students are our number one priority.
The Midland College campus is a growing, dynamic campus which provides a stimulating and engaging environment for work and study. You will also find many ways to complement your experience with athletics, music, art, journalism, student government, clubs and organizations. We recognize that many students work and have family responsibilities, but we encourage you to participate in extracurricular activities because the college family will be enriched by your presence.
In addition to associate degrees and certificates, Midland College offers a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management. Through our University Center, you can also earn other baccalaureate degrees — from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Angelo State University, Sul Ross State University, Howard Payne University, Lubbock Christian University and Western Governors University — without ever leaving the Midland College campus!
This is your college. We are here to serve you. Together, we can achieve our dreams and goals and nothing will hold us back. There is a saying in West Texas that “the sky is the limit,” and I believe that is true for all of us. We are glad you are here.
Dr. Steve Thomas
